The North Brooklyn Coalition is an organization that helps survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through direct services including case management, therapy, support groups, community education, community outreach, and participation in community events.
Services for Survivors
Our goal is to provide survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault with immediate and ongoing emotional support and connections to needed resources. Our services include case management, therapy, support groups, and legal advocacy. Our supportive services assist survivors as they develop plans for their short and long-term health, safety, and stability.
All services, including therapy, are provided free of charge.
We work closely with community members, leaders, service providers, and law enforcement to raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault in our North Brooklyn communities. Our comprehensive advocate trainings are geared towards service providers, interns, and volunteers with the aim of educating participants about trauma-informed and victim-centered ways of responding to and supporting survivors. Our community workshops engage community members in conversations about preventing and addressing domestic violence and sexual assault.
All trainings and workshops are provided free of charge.
We are committed to reaching out to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in our communities to ensure survivor interests are represented. Our community outreach efforts consist of Survivor-Centered Community Outreach and Advocacy, with the outcome of raising awareness about issues affecting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
We provide direct representation, advice and consultation, and limited advocacy services for survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault in cases pending in Kings County courts.
